01 Jun Edtech Accelerator BoomStartup Invites Bardic Systems CEO to Mentor First Education Cohort

Alex Jackl joins a roster of 40 education “power hitters” helping edtech startups solve problems and make connections.

Warwick, RI – June, 2015 – Bardic Systems, Inc. announced that CEO Alex Jackl will be among the industry leaders to mentor the first cohort of BoomStartup focused exclusively on education companies. Eight startups will receive seed money, legal and financial services, and access to mentors who will provide industry guidance and introductions.

BoomStartup is a lean startup accelerator founded in 2010, and a founding member of Global Accelerator Network (GAN), which was ranked the #12 accelerator in the country recently by the MIT Sloan Study published in Inc. and TechCrunch. More than 40 companies have graduated from GAN and have raised more than $25 million in seed capital.

The purpose of BoomStartup’s 12-week program is to help edtech companies find an optimum business model, create a minimum viable product, and work with mentors to make connections to customers and investors.

Steve Curtis, BoomStartup’s managing partner in edtech states, “Alex’s knowledge about the education technology space is rather amazing, and the entrprenuers find his enthusiasm to be contagious.  He has donated hours helping them think through their strategies, opening doors for business development opportunities, and sharing critical insights about the cutting edge trends in education. We are fortunate to have him as a mentor in the BoomStartup EdTech accelerator.”

Alex Jackl has always found great reward in mentoring. “I am indebted to my mentors from my earlier days working for state education agencies and later for education business ventures. Mentoring in education is especially important, due to the complexity of building relationships and selling to public institutions. I am looking forward to helping these entrepreneurs accelerate their learning curve.”
